A traditional Cornish town on the beautiful River Camel
Tredethy cottages are set in ten beautiful acres of garden and woodland, in the heart of Camel Valley, providing the perfect start to a wondeful holiday. From the moment you drive over the fifteenth-century Helland bridge and approach the imposing mannor house Tredethy which was once the home of Prince Chula of Siam (Great grandson of the King and I), now a private house, you enter a world of tranquility far away from the stresses of every day life.
The cottages are set in peaceful courtyard behind the main house, in a mews of carefully restored old granite cottages that offer well appointed accommodation. Feel free to wander and explore the grounds, where amongst the vibrant flowers and woodland, you will find the outdoor heated swimming pool (June-Sept), a giant chess board and children's play area. The Camel Trail (cycle & footpath) runs a stones throw from the house, meandering along the river, through woodland, leading to Padstow with its cosmopolitan shops and many fine restaurants, need we mention Rick Steins.
The spectacular beaches, coves and costal footpaths lie within 6/8 miles and the south riviera coast within 12 miles. The Eden Project can be reached in 15 minutes and other locations include, Pencarrow house and Gardens (5 mins) The lost gardens of Heligan (20 mins) and many National Trust properties such as Lanhydrock and Tresilick lie within close proximity. Cycle hire is available from the house by prior arrangement. Local Horse riding on Bodmin Moor, Golf, Fishing and Shooting can all be arranged on behalf of the guests.
