Diving & Snorkeling

Divers will discover the Gulf of Mexico's most famous wreck, the 465-ft. Empire Mica in Panama City Beach. Dubbed the "wreck capital of the south" by Skin Diver magazine, Panama City Beach is home to many historical wrecks and is the second most explored Florida dive destination. Explore the Grey Ghost, 110-ft. tug: the Chippewa, the 160-ft. coastal freighter; a 441-ft. World War II liberty ship; the 110-ft. tug Chickasaw; and the S.S. Tarpon, a 220-ft. World War II tug.

Artificial Reefs

Artificial Reef BuildingA program of artificial reef building was initiated by the Panama City Marine Institute in the 1970s. Swim among exotic and beautiful sea life sea life in the warm, clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Snorkel and Swim with the Dolphins From Island Time - Sail aboard the Island Time catamaran on a 3½-hour excursion with a chance to swim with dolphins and collect shells. Snorkel gear and instructions are provided. Wet suits available. A deli lunch is served.

Golfing at Panama City Beach

Golfers will find eight 18-hole layouts and two nine-hole courses in Panama City Beach. Most welcome the public; some are for guests of the resort.

Bay Point Yacht & Country Club - Bay Point is ranked among America's "Top Ten" golf destinations by Golf Illustrated. The Bay Point's Club Meadow's course designed by Willard Byrd is golf in the finest country club tradition. The great design demands players concentrate on their playing strategy and focus on length and accuracy. Players return year after year to challenge the 6,913 yards and advanced tees. For over 16 years, the US Golf Association has consistently rated Bay Point's Lagoon Legend among the most challenging courses in the United States. Designers Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge created a course that commands an astonishing USGA Slope Rating of 152 and a handicap rating of 75.3. Golfers will not find gimmicks like hourglass-shaped fairways or blind approach shots, or 600-yard terrors. Mounds and moguls accent the fairways and serve as a guides to landing areas. The bordering waters are either wide or deep. On the Legend, the danger is in the shot a player fears to makes. Semi-private, par 72. Two courses: Club Meadows and Lagoon Legend. No walking.
