Panama City - Bay County - International Airport

The Airport is conveniently located 4 miles north of downtown Panama City, and approximately 10 minutes from area beaches. From Highway 98 turn north onto Lisenby Avenue, then follow Lisenby Avenue 1.8 miles directly to the Airport terminal.

The current Panama City - Bay County International Airport facility has served the citizens of Bay County and surrounding communities since 1934. Over the years the community and the demands on the airport grew. In February, 1996, operations in the new 55,000 square foot terminal building began. A distinctive green roof caps the terminal's art-deco architecture, capturing the essence of Florida's Gulf Coast. A spacious atrium hosts the departure lounge with six gates, ample seating and a panoramic view of the air field. The main concourse offers a first class gift shop, restaurant and lounge, and an ATM machine for the comfort and convenience of passengers.

Convenient long and short-term parking facilities are available at the Panama City - Bay County International Airport for $.50 per half hour; with a maximum rate of $4.50 per day. There is no charge for the first 10 minutes of parking in the public parking lot. Curbside parking next to the terminal is limited to 5-minutes for loading and unloading only. The parking facility, as well as the entire Airport property, is patrolled 24-hours a day by the Airport Police Department.

Taxi cab and limousine services are available at the Airport for the convenience of arriving passengers. Area resorts and hotels, such as the Marriott and Holiday Inn, also offer transportation service directly to the resorts and can be called from the courtesy phone.

The Panama City - Bay County International Airport is currently served by three major airlines. In addition, an international air charter service plans to begin operations in the near future.

Junior Museum of Bay County

The Junior Museum of Bay County is a hands on children's museum established to inspire and educate via interactive exhibits and programs focusing on science, history, and culture. Created in 1967, the Museum is situated on 12 acres of land conveniently located between Panama City's downtown and business districts. Museum exhibits are designed for use by preschool through middle school aged children, adult guidance and participation is recommended. In addition to its permanent and special exhibits, the Museum offers educational and entertaining programs and classes.

A short drive from Panama City Beach, this is an unusual museum for young visitors. Here, they can see, feel, hear, and participate in hands on science, art and nature through exhibits, concerts, puppet shows, classes and traveling displays. Visit a pioneer village complete with homestead and barn. A nature trail twists through three environments common to Northwest Florida - a hardwood swamp, a pine island, and a hardwood hammock. Hours Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sat. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
