The Georgia Aquarium promises to be entertaining intriguing and educational for guests of all ages. While promoting a fun and entertaining learning experience, the Aquarium will instill in our guests a new appreciation for the world’s aquatic biodiversity.

The Aquarium will add a new dimension to Georgia’s education curriculum. Twenty-five percent of the public floor space has been dedicated to educating students of all ages who visit the Aquarium. Annually, 70,000 schoolchildren will participate in the Aquarium’s educational programs – an experience that will integrate the new curriculum standards for the state of Georgia. The Aquarium will utilize innovative technologies as well as interactive and interdisciplinary techniques to ensure that students have an enjoyable academic experience. On a more global scale, the Georgia Aquarium will support, conduct and lead research on environmental and conservation issues.

Bernie Marcus knows The Home Depot would not have achieved its full potential without the incredible support of the citizens of Atlanta and Georgia, including customers, associates and stockholders. The Georgia Aquarium is an exciting venue for your reception, banquet or event. Unique settings feature several ideal environments for a variety of groups from 50 to 10,000+ guests.

The Aquarium will be able to accommodate events including corporate functions, convention/trade show dinners and receptions, weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs. Complete catering facilities, including a kosher kitchen, will be available.

The sophisticated ballroom features two private viewing windows of our breathtaking aquatic environments. The 17,000 square foot ballroom can accommodate 1,200 people for a sit down dinner or more than 2,000 people for a reception.

The entire Aquarium will also be available for your event as a dramatic reception space. More than 10,000 attendees can enjoy the extraordinary underwater scenes and sights – a distinctive setting that will be sure to pique curiosity, generate conversation and create vibrant memories for years to come. The Georgia Aquarium will be open in late 2005, and we are accepting reservations for receptions and banquets in 2006.
