Breckenridge offers a wide variety of activities. From ice skating at Maggie Pond, to pottery at Ready Paint Fire, to historical walking tours, exciting nightlife and shopping in town, Breckenridge has real town attractions along with its unreal skiing.

Breckenridge offers free mountain tours seven days a week during the season. The tours are available at the base of the Colorado SuperChair at Peak 8 and at the base of the Beaver Run SuperChair at Peak 9. They will be offered once a day at both locations at 9:30 a.m. The tours are about two hours in length and are open to intermediate and above skiers/snowboarders. These tours are not appropriate for beginners.

Now here's an area in which Breckenridge doesn't merely shine - it dazzles. In town you'll find Chinese (Szechwan, Mandarin and Hunan), burgers, salads, BBQ, brewpubs, steaks and ribs, seafood, wild game, vegetarian and organic, continental, Northern Italian, pizza and subs, pasta, Southwest and Native American, bar food, Mexican, java and bagels, Bavarian baked goods, French, Cajun, chocolate, Southern Italian, American regional, ice cream and even more.

Most are casual and rustic; some are fine dining in elegantly appointed rooms; some are casually elegant. Prices range from modest to moderate to higher; reviews generally run to the exclamatory. We dare anyone to try them all because there's more than 50.

There's a reason Breckenridge is consistently rated among the best of ski resorts with nightlife in reader polls conducted by skiing magazines: visitors can choose from cozy little bistros where they can dine and sip, to outrageous dance floors where they can dip and slide - and a whole spectrum of night spots in between. Music, dancing, cocktails, big names, low key, country/western, rock 'n' roll, blues, reggae, jazz, biker rock, snowboard talk, alternative and jukebox. Several clubs bring in national recording artists, and several feature local artists who have numerous albums to their credit.

More than 100 stores beckon Breckenridge visitors with their wares, from kicky boutique items to off-the-beaten-path books. Visitors also find a trove of haute couture and hot cuisine, fanciful T-shirts, great ski and sports apparel, both fine and costume jewelry in hundreds of designs, keepsakes and mementos, sports equipment and accessories, antiques, toys, home furnishings and accessories, music, chocolate, sunglasses, Christmas ornaments, and leather goods.

Breckenridge has a large and diverse bed base-everything from fully equipped slopeside condominiums, private homes to quaint bed and breakfasts in restored victorian homes. Virtually all lodging is conveniently located slopeside, within walking distance to town or on a free-shuttle route. Approximately one-third of available lodging is located adjacent to or within walking distance of the ski slopes.

Besides having four peaks of unbelievable terrain to challenge every skier and snowboarder in your family, Breckenridge offers a host of activities in and around town to make this family ski vacation a special one. Just check out our picturesque town with it's shops, fine dining and Victorian charm and you'll understand why the unique energy of Breckenridge is hard to resist and even harder to forget.

The premier Colorado snowboard destination! As the first major ski area in the state to allow snowboarding back in 1985, Breckenridge has gone on to earn the respect of riders around the world. Impressive terrain parks, abundant backcountry and a kicking nightlife makes this the ideal place to take your vacation. With the introduction of the Freeway Terrain Garden on Peak 8, Breckenridge has created the ultimate snowboard experience. The Freeway incorporates a carpet lift on the pipe, Rest Stop warming hut and Snowboard Cross track. On Peak 9, Gold King Terrain Garden has been expanded with massive hits for the aggressive rider.

To better maintain the gardens and ensure everyone's safety, The Park and Pipe Crew program has been expanded this season. Raking, sculpting, and snow removal are a few of the duties this crew will have, not to mention information and traffic control on busier days. Killer events, incredible terrain and the hippest town in Colorado, where will you ride this season?
